Abstract. We analyzed an alternative approach for guiding parallel signal beams nested between noninteracting fundamental bright spatial solitons. The numerical results show that stable signal-wave guiding without a cross-talk is obtainable even at small-intensity fluctuations of the control beams (±10%) and at nonperfect alignment of the signal beams with respect to the channels formed by the solitons. Conditions under which the temporal changes of the signal pulses could be asymptotically reduced are discussed.
